AUSTRALIA ~ ADELAIDE PREMIERE
Pop a Cabaret Cherry
It’s Lionel’s first time.
You promise to be gentle, right?
After a difficult break-up with his long-term boyfriend and following advice from his terrifying German therapist to ‘express himself’, Lionel has inadvertently found himself in a cabaret show. He’s now left to draw on his limited knowledge of the style and formidable Wikipedia skills to hilariously stumble his way through an hour on stage covering sex, booze, boys and mythical beasts. From the mischievous mind of writer/performer Dash Kruck.
“Kruck — the dashing love child of Eddie Perfect and James Corden — is marvellous” – The Herald Sun
“This show is an unusual blend of sharing of pain, satire, storytelling, and musical dexterity. Premature glitter, adult humour, mythical beasts and booze blend into a compelling, memorable, unique world-class entertainment” – Weekend Notes
“Every now and again, there is a show that is so clever, so witty, so painful, so funny, so daring and so much more than you thought you were getting into. Dash Kruck‘s cabaret show I Might Take My Shirt Off is a prime example of this” – Theatrepress
“Holy s***! – Dash Kruck’s I Might Take My Shirt off is one of the best written cabarets I have seen for a LONG time” – Kris Stewart, Artistic Director Brisbane Powerhouse & founder of New York Music Theatre Festival
WRITTEN & PERFORMED BY Dash Kruck
ORIGINAL MUSIC COMPOSED BY Chris Perren
ORIGINALLY DIRECTED BY Emily Gilhome
MUISCAL DIRECTION & ARRANGEMENTS BY Benjamin Keihne
PRODUCED BY Jai Higgs
